briCoding
briCoding is a play on words: my name, Bri, plus decoding the messy stuff in my head into words and demos I can show you here.
Hi. I'm Bri. I work in design systems and I'm learning the AI side of the stack in public, which mostly means I build small things, break them open, and leave notes.
I'm still sorting out where I land in all of this. Design, engineering, and the AI space don't sit in neat boxes, and neither do I. This site is my attempt to stake out a corner anyway.
I don't learn from giant walls of text. I'm a visual learner. I need to see layout, tokens, motion, the thing actually rendering. So posts here lean visual: demos you can poke, UI, screenshots when words would waste your time. I'll write what clarifies. No padding.
What this site is
Tide pool energy: field notes from the intertidal zone, where the current meets the craft. Demos first, explanation second. Not a tutorial blog. Three kinds of posts: a specimen (something built, dissected, with a working demo), an observation (a pattern or idea studied up close: what it is, how it behaves, what survives), and drift (what the current brought in: new tools, patterns worth watching).
The stack
- Astro 5: routing, content collections, MDX so posts can mount components
- Vue 3: islands only, when the page needs to move
- Tailwind CSS 4: tokens live in CSS via
@theme - pnpm: fast installs, not eating my disk for fun
The aesthetic
Dark mode. Monospace all over: JetBrains Mono for UI and code, DM Mono for prose. Part VS Code, part organized chaos. Permanently a little unfinished.
What's Next
Showcase WIP / Coming soon. I'm packaging the demos and design-system components into one place here first.
